senior lecturer of the department of the theory and practice of the English language. Graduated from Minsk State pedagogical institute of foreign languages (nowadays Minsk State Linguistic University) in 1981 and that year started working as a lecturer at Byelorussian Institute of Railway Engineers at the department of the English language.

In 1987 took a postgraduate course at Minsk State pedagogical institute of foreign languages, and in 1990 completed the full course having specialized in Germanic languages. By the Decision of the State Certification Board has been conferred the scientific qualification «Researcher» in philology. By this diploma is entitled to carry out any scientific and research activities connected with the above-mentioned qualification and speciality.

Has been working at State Gomel University since 1996. Delivers lectures on the history of the English language and social linguistics for students and post-graduates. Teaches discourse practice, ESP (English for special purposes), practice of written translation and other subjects. Supervises students’ course papers and graduation projects.

At present holds a position of deputy dean, being responsible for scientific research at the faculty of foreign languages. Supervises scientific research of the students. Takes an active part in organizing scientific conferences at the faculty. Runs the students’ research laboratory “Important issues of linguistic research”. Main spheres of scientific interests – history of the English language, comparative linguistics, lexical semantics, pragmatic linguistics, social linguistics, cross-cultural communication. Is the author of more than 50 scientific works.
